“I’m Not Very Digital” – and why that’s totally fine. A simple digital design process is our strength.

Let’s be honest – the digital world can feel like a bit of a minefield. Everyone’s throwing around words like UX, API, responsive frameworks and CMS integrations... and if you’re not living and breathing it every day, it can sound like another language.

At Paper Bug Studio, we get that. We’ve spent 18 years working in full-service agencies, and if we’ve learned one thing, it’s this: most people just want their digital stuff to work without the faff or techy words.

So, let’s strip away the mystery and talk about what really happens when you work with someone on a digital project – whether that’s a new website, an app idea, or a platform you want to bring to life.

1. The simple digital design process always starts with a chat

No fancy forms, no tech talk – just a simple conversation about what you’re trying to achieve. You don’t need to come armed with a sitemap or a detailed brief. We’ll help you shape that together.

Think of it like telling an architect, “I’d like a house with lots of light and space.” You don’t need to know how to pour the concrete – that’s our job.

2. We sketch it out

Once we understand what you want, we map it out visually – so you can actually see what we’re talking about. Wireframes, mockups, prototypes…they’re all just fancy words for “drawings that show how it’ll look and work.”

This is the fun bit – where your idea starts to become real.

3. Then we build it (without the jargon)

Behind the scenes, there’s coding and tech stack and testing – but you don’t have to worry about that. We’ll keep you updated in plain English, not in acronyms.

You’ll know what’s happening, when, and why. No mysterious delays, no tech panic, no disappearing developers.

4. We make sure it just works

A beautiful design is pointless if it’s confusing to use. So we test things properly – making sure buttons do what they should, pages load fast, and everything feels natural.

You shouldn’t have to think about how it works – it should just work.

5. You get the keys (and the confidence)

When everything’s live, we don’t just vanish into the digital mist. We’ll show you how to use your new site or system, answer your questions, and make sure you feel comfortable managing it – and offer ongoing support after this.

Because owning your digital world shouldn’t feel intimidating – it should feel empowering.

The bottom line

Digital projects don’t need to be stressful, confusing, or full of tech-speak. With the right process (and the right people), they can actually be straightforward – even enjoyable.

So if you’ve been putting off a project because “you’re not very digital,” consider this your sign: You don’t need to be. You just need someone who speaks your language.

Let’s keep it as it is without the jargon – a simple digital design process.
